MISSION & VISION
Sree Maa Roti Bank Foundation (SMRBF) is one of the organizations that are focusing for the upliftment of the poor, needy, deprived, destitute, mentally ill and the persons staying on the road side. The concept of helping these persons were came in the minds of the trustees, who have seen them and has realized their needs of foods, clothes, pains and sufferings and decided to promote a state level institution to take care of these persons irrespective of children, youths, men and women. In accordance to these understanding four similar minded persons has developed a concept to extends their supports and services for upliftment of these persons by collecting support materials from the community as well as collect un-used clothes and other materials from people and distribute to those are basically needy poor, deprived, destitute and mentally ill are staying on the road side and become victims of various anti-social ailments. In accordance to the above concept, these four similar minded persons has finally decided to forma a trust having the concept of a bank for collection of food materials, clothes store and thereby organize action to cook food and distribute among the needy poor, deprived, destitute and mentally ill are staying on the road side. It has also decided to establish homes for the destitute children and elders to support them and has finally register it as a charitable trust the Indian Trust Act 1882 on 15/10/2018. Although the journey this institute was started little earlier but the formal journey was started on the date of obtaining its legal status and till then the Trust is actively engaged in providing supports in the form of welfare and development services for the upliftment of these poor and needy persons including establishing a children home to support nineteen (19) poor and destitute children to enabled to live in the society with dignity and respect. The Foundation is presently organizing its activities based of the collection of donations both in cash and kinds for cooking and distributing foods to destitute persons as well as receiving some specialized support from both institutions and individual like: Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura State Rifles (TSR), State Bank of India (SBI), School of Science (SoS) and Agartala Nursing Home (ANH) are supporting on regular basis. Similarly, more than fifty (50) individuals are also extending their financial assistance to it, as and when required. Since, the Trustees have decided to promote this Foundation as food bank, it has also started focusing on establishing it as a specialized institution for these kinds of activities and has started organizing its initiatives to obtained exemptions from the department of the income tax as well as also obtain necessary registrations from both central and state governments. It has completed the audits of its accounts for the first and formal year of existence and thereby applied and obtained exemptions of both 12A, 80G from the Income Tax Department and has also applied and got registered with NGO Darpan of Niti Ayoug. Further, to organize all its welfare and development interventions,
it has decided to extend its support services in four sectoral programs namely: (i) Education Programs, (ii) Health Programs, (iii) Environment Programs and (iv) Community Development Programs. In addition, the Foundation has also introduced a Board of Trustees (BoT) to look after its interventions as well as take appropriate initiatives for successful execution of its programs.
